The Leica Super-Vario-Elmarit-SL 1:2.8/14-24 ASPH. opens up new perspectives when taking photos and films with the SL system with a focal length of 14 mm and a diagonal angle of view of up to 114°. The wide-angle -Zoom lens is extremely versatile, for architectural and interior photography, landscape photography as well as for extraordinary street photography. In addition, it enables spectacular shots in the field of astrophotography. Thanks to the consistently high light intensity, impressive photos and videos of the highest brilliance are created, with almost all lighting conditions.

The optics of the super wide-angle zoom lens are made up of 18 lenses in 13 groups, which compensate for distortions and aberrations excellently. Three of the lenses have an aspherical surface. These compensate for chromatic aberrations and ensure the best image and video quality - with a compact design. The Aqua-Dura® coating on the outer lenses and an integrated lens hood keep out unwanted stray light. The latter also serves as robust protection for the strongly curved front lens. A special holder on the bayonet enables the use of foil filters.
