High-resolution EyeRes® viewfinder
The eyepiece of the SL3's electronic viewfinder is elaborately manufactured with high-quality coated glass lenses . This means that the image on the OLED display inside can be optimally displayed with a resolution of 5.76 million pixels and up to 120 fps . Exposure and composition can therefore be assessed with absolute reliability in the live preview. The integrated eye sensor automatically switches between the viewfinder and the live view display when the camera is not held directly to the eye.
Fast data transfer with or without cable
The SL3's wide range of interfaces for data transfer and connectivity includes slots for CFexpress Type B and UHS-II SD cards, a USB-C port for fast data transfer, tethering and charging, and an HDMI Type A output for external monitors or recording devices. A dedicated timecode interface ensures the synchronization of image and sound in video productions with multiple cameras. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi with MIMO technology also ensure a stable and fast connection to the Leica FOTOS app. Photos in full DNG resolution can be transferred from the camera to a mobile device within around 2 seconds. Clearly separated into photo and video functions, each with its own color scheme: red stands for photo and yellow for video.
Adaptable to individual preferences
The main functions of the SL3 can be fully adapted to individual needs . Freely assignable FN keys and additional controls are just as much a part of this as the customizable assignment of frequently used functions in the control center on the tiltable 3.2-inch touch display . Thanks to the floating design, the arrangement of the icons on the display automatically adapts to the orientation of the camera so that all information remains optimally readable. With its energy-saving standby mode, the SL3 is also ready to take pictures immediately with just a click of the shutter button.
Optimized design
The SL3 is noticeably lighter and more compact than its predecessors and fits perfectly in the hand. An optimized camera shape ensures perfect balance with all currently available Leica L-mount lenses and makes the SL3 a particularly comfortable tool for demanding creatives. The elegant leather covering, which is also found on the separately available handgrip, ensures optimal grip and a classy feel.

The 60-megapixel sensor of the Leica SL3 offers a dynamic range of up to 15 f-stops, 14-bit color depth and exceptionally good noise performance for breathtaking images. And all this in three different resolutions: 60, 36 and 18 megapixels, in DNG and JPG format . Its ISO sensitivity ranges from ISO 50 to ISO 100000 and guarantees excellent results in all lighting conditions. Camera shake is also efficiently compensated for by the 5-axis image stabilization (IBIS) .
Maestro IV processor
This state-of-the-art image processor ensures the fast and reliable operation of the Leica SL3, both in photo and video applications. Optimized noise behavior, fast signal processing and the color reproduction characteristic of a Leica are just some of the many aspects with which this high-performance processor with L2 technology enables photography and videography in the unmistakable Leica look. Especially for videographers, the Maestro IV supports the transfer speed of the CFexpress Type B interface and the ability to record 8K videos and a range of highly efficient video codecs.
Precise autofocus system
The autofocus in the SL3 combines three technologies with the help of efficient algorithms . Depending on the shooting situation, the interaction of phase detection (PDAF), depth map (Object Detection AF) and contrast detection (Contrast Detection AF) is optimally adjusted. This means that the SL3 ensures razor-sharp images in any light. Intelligent subject recognition also supports the photography of dynamic scenes. The particular strengths of each individual technology are combined to create a high-precision system that effortlessly meets all professional requirements.
