Leofoto Ranger series – the ultra-light but extremely stable carbon tripods

Nature is the essence of the compact and lightweight Leofoto Ranger tripods. On days of photo stalking, every gram and every millimeter counts in order to minimize the volume and weight of the luggage. However, all pieces of equipment must not only be space- and weight-saving, but also meet very high requirements. Stability under all circumstances, that is the requirement. The material, carbon, ensures the required lightness. Its stability and freedom from vibration "grows" with the number of its layers. Apart from the Traveler tripod series and the monopods, Leofoto tripods are made of ten-layer carbon. The deliberately modular design of all tripods in the Leofoto Ranger series - the center column is not built in, but can only be attached when required - makes it possible to limit luggage to the bare essentials.
With their small diameters, the head plates of the Ranger series also conform to the space-saving concept. And because they are CNC-milled from strong aircraft aluminum, they fit perfectly. The head plate screw has a 3/8" thread. The tripod legs - each made up of three to five leg elements, depending on the model - slide smoothly and without twisting. They are secured by rubberized twist locks that are easy to grip. The rubber feet absorb unwanted vibrations. If necessary, they can be replaced with the stainless steel spikes supplied or optional snow and sand feet that can be purchased.

Leofoto Ranger LS-284C carbon tripod – lightweight and strong

All carbon tripods in the Ranger series are designed to be lightweight. For this reason, they do not come with a built-in center column. But you don't have to do without it. Because it is included in the set - including with the Ranger LS-284C - and can be screwed on. Each photographer decides for themselves whether they prefer to equip their luggage with or without a center column. It increases the working height to up to 1,585 mm. The Ranger LS-284C can also be made completely flat. The minimum working height of just 145 mm may require photographers to do some ground acrobatics, but it is extremely useful for macro shots of small things and ground creatures or even pictures from a worm's perspective. The strong tripod legs, each made of four smoothly gliding segments, have diameters of 28, 25, 22 and 19 mm. This alone shows that this tripod is significantly stronger (more stable) than the Ranger LS-254C, which is of the same height.

Leofoto LH-30 ball head – small and powerful at the same time

Precisely CNC-machined from black anodized aircraft aluminum, with built-in spirit level. Horizontal rotation of 360° and vertical tilt of up to 90° of the ball (30 mm diameter) are controlled and held by the strong wing nut. With a weight of just 308 g, the Leofoto LH-30 ball head can withstand a load of 15 kg. 80 mm height means that the center of gravity is low, which also reduces adverse vibrations. With 3/8" tripod thread and scale on the tripod plate, which makes precise adjustment easier. The built-in quick-change coupling also makes work easier; it comes with a BPL-50 QR camera plate of the Arca-Swiss type.
