If you don't want to extend the three tripod legs to a different length to compensate for uneven terrain, the Ranger LS-284CEX is an alternative to the LS-284C. Instead of being under a rigid head plate, the tripod legs are joined together under a leveling base. With a tilt of up to 15° in each direction, it allows the generally desired horizontal camera alignment in many situations. An extremely useful adjustment aid, especially for video and panorama shots!
