The classic reportage focal length with a slight wide-angle characteristic and natural-looking dimensions masters all the challenges that make life so multifaceted and dynamic - whether through selective sharpness at close range, detailed landscape shots or high-contrast shots even in difficult lighting conditions.
The Summilux-M 1:1.4/35 ASPH. is not only easy to handle, but also close up. Up to 40 centimeters, without compromising on the setting accuracy. This is ensured by a double cam gear specially developed by Leica, which has almost doubled the angle of rotation of the distance ring to 176° compared to the previous model.
The large angle of rotation enables safe and precise focusing over the entire adjustment range. Up to 70 centimeters, this is done as usual using the rangefinder of all digital and analogue M cameras. After a subtle resistance, the extended close-up range between 70 and 40 centimeters can be precisely focused using Live View on the screen, the Visoflex add-on viewfinder or the Leica FOTOS app.
For even faster and more flexible handling, the lens hood is integrated directly into the lens and can be screwed in and out at any time. This compact M lens is a real all-rounder - easy to handle, hard to resist.
In addition to the extended close-up limit and integrated lens hood, the new Summilux-M 1:1.4/35 ASPH. also offers visibly improved bokeh compared to the previous model.
