The Leica Q2 Monochrom produces brilliant image results with outstanding sharpness.

This is ensured by the new monochrome sensor, which was developed exclusively for this camera.

Unlike conventional sensors, the monochrome sensor does not require color filters for the individual pixels, which eliminates the need for interpolation to calculate the brightness values.

The resolution of 47.3 megapixels is also high enough to use image sections for composing the shots. Photographers also benefit from significantly increased dynamics and extremely low image noise, even at high sensitivities of up to ISO 100,000.

A digital zoom with focal lengths of 28, 35, 50 or 75 mm is another flexible option on the Leica Q2 Monochrom. The selected section is saved as a JPEG in the cropped resolution of 47.3, 30, 15 or 7 megapixels. However, the DNG is always saved as an entire image in full sensor resolution.

Strong performance
in every lighting situation

A uniquely soft bokeh and razor-sharp details characterize the fastest lens in its class. It is perfectly matched to the sensor of the Leica Q2 Monochrom and impresses even in difficult lighting conditions.

Eleven lens elements with three elaborately manufactured aspherical elements guarantee the highest imaging performance both in the wide-angle range and when taking photos with the integrated macro mode with a close-up limit of 17 cm. The macro mode can be set directly on the lens. In addition, the choice between automatic and manual focusing is made easier by a practical lock.

The subject always under control

For full control over the subject, the OLED viewfinder of the Leica Q2 Monochrom has a resolution of 3.68 megapixels.

The high resolution and OLED technology result in significantly better image depth and increased contrast: in the viewfinder of the Q2 Monochrom, the brightness of each individual pixel is adjusted - in contrast to LCD technology, where only entire image areas can be darkened. Despite the high resolution, power consumption remains very low.

The viewfinder is activated as soon as the camera is at your eye and displays the subject precisely and without any noticeable time delay at all times.

In addition, the retractable diopter adjustment wheel on the back of the camera protects the photographer from accidental operation. The excellent viewfinder optics ensure a better overview, increased contrast and clean image reproduction.

Photographing in any weather

Neither adverse environmental conditions nor a short rain shower have any effect on the camera.

Thanks to protection against dust and splash water according to the IP52 standard*, nothing stands in the way of concentrating on the perfect play of light and shadow.

Fast and easy to use

The simple and convenient operation of the Leica Q2 is highly valued by photographers all over the world. The Q2 Monochrom has the same sophisticated operating concept. This means that the decisive moment can be captured and recorded with full attention.

The touchscreen of the Leica Q2 Monochrom allows direct access to the most important functions in a clear menu. All other menus have also been deliberately streamlined, as the monochrome camera does not require any color settings.

Extraordinary Black and White Videos

With the video function in combination with the outstanding Leica Summilux lens, the Leica Q2 Monochrom also produces expressive black and white videos. A separate overview menu for the video function meets even professional requirements.

For brilliant and razor-sharp film recordings, the Leica Q2 Monochrom offers a 4K and a Cine4K mode with frame rates of 30 and 24 frames per second. Alternatively, videos can also be recorded in Full HD format at 120, 60, 30 or 24 frames per second.

This means that images can not only be shared with others in a flash and anywhere, but the camera can also be set up and triggered via the mobile device. Seamless integration with Adobe Lightroom also supports subsequent editing and organization of the images.

New color filters
optimize grayscale reproduction

The three new, specially calculated E49 color filters are particularly recommended for use with the Leica Q2 Monochrom.

The yellow, green and orange filters open up new possibilities for designing with light and contrast.

By shifting the grayscale conversion, the filter color in images becomes lighter and the complementary color becomes darker.

This creates unique image moods in landscape and portrait photography.

In addition, the multi-layer coating reduces reflections and ensures high transmission without vignetting.
