Leica Picture of the Year: Herlinde Koelbl
Tax included.
In her latest series, German photographer Herlinde Koelbl is devoting herself exclusively to nature for the first time and continues to focus on change and transience. Her project, which has been in development for almost ten years, is being honored in the Leica Picture of the Year. The award-winning motif shows a close-up of withering plants, which reveal a mysterious and abstract beauty through precise image composition. Koelbl describes her work as "visual archaeology" in which past and present merge and rebirth shapes the future.
