The Macro-Elmar-M 1:4/90 mm can be used as a compact 90 mm telephoto lens or – in combination with the Leica Macro-Adapter-M – for macro shots up to a scale of 1:2. In both cases, the lens offers exceptionally high imaging performance.
Without an adapter, the Leica Macro-Elmar-M 1:4/90 mm is an extremely versatile telephoto lens - for example for portraits with a shallow depth of field or for capturing details in the landscape in travel photography. In reportage photography, this Elmar allows photographers to take discreet shots from a greater distance. The Leica Macro-Elmar-M 1:4/90 mm is a compact and lightweight alternative to existing Leica M lenses with the same focal length. When not in use, the lens can be retracted to save valuable space in the camera bag.
The new macro solution for the Leica M (Type 240):
The Leica Macro-Elmar-M 1:4/90 mm and the Leica Macro-Adapter-M are perfectly matched and, together with the Live View function of the Leica M (Type 240), offer a convenient solution for close-ups.
The adapter is attached between the camera and the Leica Macro-Elmar-M 1:4/90 mm. Equipped with an integrated adjustment screw, it allows the lens to be extended between 18 and 30 mm. This allows the image scale to be adjusted variably. Together with the adapter, the Leica Macro-Elmar-M 1:4/90 mm can also be used in the recessed position for shots up to infinity. Thanks to the new locking function, all distances from 41 cm (image scale 1:2) to infinity can be set without having to remove the adapter.
